Introduction

Lifelong learning/Erasmus programme is the European Community programme in the field of higher education.

Erasmus Work Placements must take place in one of European country (or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey) which participates in the LLP/Erasmus programme.

For an Erasmus grant student must be registered at a Lithuanian Higher Education institution.

 

The placement must be for a 3 months, 91 day (during the summer period, from June till the end of September).The placement must take place at the nominated organisation/city during one continuous period.

 

An eligible organisation for placement:

  • Company/centre/institution which is involved in economic activities in the public or private sector.

 

Not eligible organisation for placement:

  • European institutions (such as the European Commission);
  • Organisations managing EU programmes (for example: National Agencies);
  • National diplomatic representation (embassy/consulate);
  • International Relations Offices.

How to find a company?

  •   Through Career centre, International Relations Office of Department in HEI.
  •   Through databases (for example: GLOBAL PLACEMENT, LEO-NET, ISPO, PLACEMENT-UK, WORKING FOR NATURE, NORD STAGES, IAGORA, EAEC) or recognised work placement agencies (for example: Job Trust, Animafest, Atlas Nova).
  •   Through speaking to other students, teachers, neighbours and acquaintances.

  • Application form
  • CV and motivation letter in English
  • Letter of Confirmation from Host company
  • Copy of passport and residence permit.

Application deadline: 1st of March, 2011

Selection procedure:

During the first week of March students, who have submitted their documents, will be informed about the interview time by e-mail. The interview will be held at the respective faculty.  After this interview students will be ranked using a total score, which includes these components: academic average, evaluation of the motivation letter, foreign language evaluation grade, evaluation of the relevance of the tasks of placement, participation in mentors’ programme, evaluation of the ability to manage conflict situations, and etc. Please note that students of each faculty are ranked individually amongst the other students of the same faculty. The formula of total selection score will be available on our web site from the middle of February, 2011.
