A chance to study one of the oldest languages in the world!
Lithuanian language and the language of our close neighbours Latvians are the only two modern languages of the Baltic branch of the Indo-European family of languages (a family that also includes the Germanic, Roman and Slavonic languages).
Lithuanian language is of particular interest to scholars because it is archaic as Sanskrit in its grammatical forms. If you feel like willing to get some Lithuanian language skills, we can offer you LLC at initial level. It will make your adaptation into Lithuanian daily life easier as still not every Lithuanian met at supermarket or in the street can speak English.
If you wish to attend LLC at VGTU, when applying for studies at our university just mark the corresponding square on the general VGTU Application Form for ERASMUS students. The courses are free of charge and will be organised in parallel with main studies. After successful completing of the courses you will get 3 ECTS credits.
The other way to get Lithuanian language skills is attending Erasmus Intensive Lithuanian Language Course before Autumn term and Spring term. The courses will provide you the communicative basics of Lithuanian and offer you an opportunity to acquire more knowledge about the economical, political, social and cultural situation in Lithuania. If you need information about intensive LLC please contact the National Agency by e-mail: info@smpf.lt .
